Consultant Clinical Oncologist
Dr Hemal Ariyaratne is a consultant clinical oncologist specialising in lung and colorectal cancer. He qualified in medicine in 2004 with a first class honours and has an MSc in Epidemiology from LSHTM. His research thesis on cone beam CT guidance in radiotherapy was awarded an MD(Res) from UCL in 2018.
Dr Ariyaratne is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. He is the lead for lung radiotherapy and stereotactic ablative radiotherapy at the Royal Free London and is also the principal investigator for several clinical trials in thoracic radiotherapy at Royal Free London. His research interests include IGRT, SABR, and integration of immunotherapy.
