Consultant Endocrinologist
Dr Salim Janmohamed is an established, experienced senior Consultant Physician, specialising in Endocrinology (hormones), Metabolism, Diabetes and General Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and Hon. Senior Lecturer at University College London (UCL).
He received undergraduate medical training at UCL, including a BSc in pharmacology, qualified with triple distinction in 1988, and underwent postgraduate training in a range of prestigious institutions in London and Oxford. Since then, he has specialised in Endocrinology and Diabetes, spent four years researching pituitary disease and obesity genetics , and is involved in global clinical research of new medicines for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. He was appointed as a Consultant 1999 and practices in a number of London Hospitals, including the Clementine Churchill, Wellington and Royal Free.
His clinical practice covers a wide range of medical and complex diagnostic problems, with a focus on careful investigation and treatment options. Special interests include thyroid , parathyroid, pituitary, adrenal, lipid and sexual disorders, diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis.
Academic fellowships/memberships include: Royal College of Physicians, Royal Society of Medicine, Society for Endocrinology (UK), The Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Diabetes Association, European Society of Cardiology.
